The quieter days are just around the corner, but for the initial computing nodes of the Cluster Helma, work is just getting started: The first friendly users have now been given early access to the first part of the NHR@FAU high-performance computer, which is mainly intended to support AI research.
The official Public access to the new computing nodes will be opened in the first half of 2025, and we are already looking forward to seeing the scientific achievements with the new hardware. In other news, Helma’s computing power is not yet complete: Even though the first four racks were already ranked on the SC24 Top500 list in November, even more components will be delivered and installed this year.
